LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHILDREN OF LINCOLN ELKS LODGE #80 MEMBERS

Elks Lodge # 80 is happy to provide you with this scholarship opportunity. These scholarships were made available in large part due to the generosity of Paulding and Esther Smith. Others responsible for these scholarships are Alex "Bud" Dietrich and Jerry Crouch. They are available to students whose sponsoring relative is an active member or deceased member of the Lincoln (NE) Elks Lodge #80.They are intended to provide financial assistance to eligible applicants who exhibit the core values of the Elks: Knowledge, Charity, Service to Community, and Integrity. Judging criteria will include the applicant's civic activity, leadership, leadership development, academic success and a 250 word essay on how Elks are contributing to the community. Additionally, the applicant's honors and awards and will be considered.

These scholarships have a total value of $10,000. The value of the award will be based upon the number of applicants who submit complete applications. The minimum value will be $1,000. The maximum value will be $2,000. The value will be awarded as follows:

The following eligibility requirements apply to these scholarships:
  1. Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild) of a living member of Lincoln Elks Lodge #80 who has been active the past three (3) years, or a deceased lodge member who had been an active member of Lincoln Elks Lodge #80 for at least ten (10) consecutive years prior to his or her death.
  2. The applicant must be a high school graduate, or a high school senior who will graduate within 9 months from the date of this application.
  3. Applicants must be under the age of 25 by the date of this application.
  4. Applicant must apply through the Lincolk Elks Lodge, regardless of where the applicant resides.
  5. These awards may only be applied to accredited US American schools, colleges or universities.

All completed applications must be received at the Lincoln Elks Lodge #80 by 7:00 pm on December 30, 2023 to be eligible for consideration. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED - BE SURE TO CONSIDER MAILING TIME!

Winners will be notified by mail, and will also be posted on the Legacy scholarship web page, by April 15, 2024.
